They’re almost like the partners in a Buddy Cop movie whom start out hating each other only to form a tight knit brotherly bond by the end of the adventure…
…”almost”.
Thompson sort of operates on his own level.
Ironically I never got to properly explore the culture of this island or Maeyen’s training during the original run. It is undoubtedly something I will have to come back to.
Buchan is effectively the character I use when I want to talk about things beyond the fourth wall. Early on I intended to use him more, but as the strip progressed he sorta fell out of use. Kellen was my alter ego at the time. The shadowy author of the strip whom is never seen, and only Buchan has contact with. This whole dynamic largely vanished with one notable exception a few years later.
I was gonna comment on how a hamster would hardly be a mouthful for a shark, but I guess to a shark there isn’t much difference between the size of a hamster and the size of most coastal fish.
The sad fact is most of these characters are based off of real people, including Narnar the touristy islander here.
In real life I actually don’t swear, ever. However I figured some of my characters ought to for the sake of realistic dialogue, but looking back years later I wonder if perhaps that wasn’t wise since I do want these comics to be somewhat PG-13.
I couldn’t get a post done because of errors on my college network. This was back in the days when I thought I could still update on time. Boy was I naive :p
I wonder how dangerous magical bookworms would be…
Partially inspired by the father in Joe versus the Volcano. This is partially where I decided that alcohol use was prevalent in the Hamster Sergeant’s family.
